Snow Mouse
I found a snow mouse as cold as your heart.
I did to it all the things I should have done to you;
You told me, lady, we would never part,
But even then I knew it was untrue.
Betraying temptress!
Sky confetti falls on the face of the earth,
Chilly patterns busy weaving a frozen flood;
Winter's still far removed from Spring's bright mirth,
I think of you as I smell the snow mouse blood.
